Sports mouthguard
We want to be able to discharge our patients from treatment with healthy and straight teeth. However, sports accidents often occur that ruin the beautiful result. This can be prevented with a sports mouthguard. In America, this mouthguard is recommended for more than 40 sports, e.g. basketball, boxing, lawn field hockey, ice hockey, soccer, self-defense sports, skating, skateboarding, skiing, squash, volleyball, etc.
Dental jewelry
Dental jewelry is particularly popular with young people. From a medical point of view, there is nothing to be said against it. But if dental jewelry, then only on clean and well-groomed teeth. We use dental jewelry from various manufacturers, including Swarowski, and will be happy to show you a selection of different stones. Talk to our staff, we will be happy to advise you and your children.

Mini implant
Your advantages of mini implants:
they expand the treatment options and in some cases even shorten the treatment time
they avoid wearing extraoral devices such as headgear
In the case of individual teeth that are not in place, the gap is closed without having to extract teeth to compensate for this
very targeted and fast tooth movements are made possible, which would not be possible with traditional treatment
For targeted tooth movements
Mini implants (also known as mini screws or mini anchor screws) are used in orthodontics to move teeth in a specific direction. They serve as a stable attachment point to move the teeth in a targeted manner without exerting pressure on the neighboring teeth. Only the teeth that need to be moved are moved.
However, these mini implants must be clearly distinguished from dental implants for crowns and bridges at the dentist.
From insertion to removal:
The mini screws are inserted painlessly in a minimally invasive procedure under local anesthesia. As soon as this is done, the actual orthodontic treatment to correct the teeth begins. Once this is complete, the mini implants are removed again.
Frequently asked questions about our special orthodontic services
What are the "special offers" in your practice?
Our special orthodontic services include individual sports mouthguards, dental jewelry and the use of mini implants to optimize tooth movement. These services complement traditional orthodontic treatment and are used either for additional protection, aesthetic design or to expand the treatment options. This allows us to adapt the treatment even better to the wishes and circumstances of our patients.
For whom is an individual sports mouthguard useful?
An individual sports mouthguard is useful for anyone who plays sports with an increased risk of falls or blows to the mouth – such as soccer, field hockey, martial arts, ice hockey, basketball or skateboarding. For children and teenagers in particular, a custom-fit mouthguard not only protects teeth and braces, but can also prevent injuries to the lips, cheeks and jaw joints. Compared to prefabricated splints, they fit much more securely and are usually much more comfortable to wear.
What is the difference between a custom-made sports mouthguard and a mouthguard from the drugstore?
Ready-made mouthguards from the trade are often only roughly adjustable and therefore do not fit perfectly. A custom-made sports mouthguard, on the other hand, is produced using an impression or digital scan and fits your teeth exactly and – if present – your braces. This ensures a better fit, greater wearing comfort, a more even distribution of force in the event of an impact and, as a rule, significantly better protection against dental injuries.
Is dental jewelry harmful to the teeth?
Dental jewelry is generally unproblematic in healthy, well-maintained teeth if it is applied and removed professionally. It is important that the tooth surface is clean and continues to be cleaned carefully so that no plaque or discoloration forms around the jewelry. We use high-quality gemstones, for example from Swarovski, and ensure that the tooth enamel is protected and not attacked unnecessarily.
What is the procedure for applying and removing dental jewelry?
First, the tooth in question is thoroughly cleaned and the surface prepared. The gemstone is then attached with a special dental adhesive – without any drilling. The stone is then gently removed: the stone is detached, the adhesive residue carefully removed and the tooth surface polished. As a rule, the enamel remains intact if the treatment is carried out professionally.
Can dental jewelry and braces be combined?
A combination is generally possible, but must always be checked on a case-by-case basis. With fixed braces, there is often little space on the front teeth, so dental jewelry only makes sense after the treatment has been completed. In the case of aligner-based treatments or after the braces have been removed, dental jewelry can usually be attached without any problems. It is important that the orthodontic function and oral hygiene are not impaired – we will advise you individually on this.
What role do mini implants play in the special offers?
Mini-implants are small, temporarily inserted screws in the jawbone that serve as additional anchoring points for tooth movement. They enable very targeted and efficient tooth movements without putting pressure on other teeth as “countertraction” and can therefore extend the treatment options or shorten the treatment time. They are inserted in a minimally invasive procedure under local anesthesia and removed again once orthodontic treatment is complete.
